PocketSat+ v1.9
10 December, 2004
------------------

***** PLEASE READ THE DOCUMENTATION (PocketSatPlus.pdf) *****
***** BEFORE INSTALLING. *****

==== Installation ====

(This is covered in more detail in the PDF docs. Please read them.)

There are 2 files that must be installed on your Palm Pilot
in order to use PocketSat+:

- PocketSatPlus.prc. This is the application itself.

- PSPlusMaps_XXX.prc. Where XXX is 'Color', 'Gray'or 'BW'. Color
and Gray version come in regular and 'HR' (320x320) versions.
*** ONLY LOAD ONE MAP! ***

- Mathlib.prc. This is Rich Heubner's invaluable double precision
  math library.

A third file, sampsats.pdb, is a PocketSat input database
containing some (almost certainly out-of-date) sample
satellite orbit data. You can either install this database to
play with, or ignore it and go to the PocketSat+ web site
( http://www.bigfattail.com ) to get current data.

==== Update information: ====
PocketSat+ is registration code based shareware. Registered users can
simply download and install new versions and registration codes will
work with the upgrades.

If you are upgrading from an older version (v1.5 or earlier), be sure
to write down your registration code before loading the new version.
You will have to enter it again.

==== Registration ====
After messing about the PocketSat+, if you decide that you would like
to register it (many functions are faster if you do so) go to
www.bigfattail.com in order to purchase a registration code. The cost
is US$25, or US$12.50 if you are a registered user of the original
PocketSat for PalmOS. See the web site for details.

PLEASE don't register PocketSat+ until you've used it unregistered and
know that it works for you. It's a pretty complicated application and
requires a fair amount of upkeep. Refunding money is pretty difficult
and it makes me feel bad to have unhappy customers :-)

==== Release Notes ====

V1.9 - 10 December, 2004
   - Incorporates display fixes from V1.8c. Should work on all Palms
     (except Garmin IQueue 3600's)
   - "Age" column in satellites list is now sortable (so you can get rid
     of those really old TLEs...)
   - For card installs, Map Database is no longer left on the device.
   - Once again works with older (pre v3.5) PalmOS versions.
   - Added Hi-Res grayscale map.

V1.8c
   - Test version to try to fix some display issues

V1.7
   - Fixed PalmOS5 display issues, particularly with rotated screens.
   - Now allows tracking of up to 20 satellites at the same time.
   - Fixed (finally, I hope) VFS issues allowing PS+ to run properly
     from memory cards
   - "Spinny thing" is not displayed during pass calculations oon OS5
machines. It was slowing things down.

V1.6
Was a sort-of interim bug fixing attempt... It died on the vine.

V1.5
    - Added PalmOS 5 HiRes support
    - Added custom color selection
    - Added "night vision" red mode.
    - Fixed a bug when drawing the unlit Earth that resulted in
      light stripes.
    - Fixed crash when attempting to delete an import DB when none
      is selected.
    - Fixed crash when attempting to delete an import memo when none
      is selected.

V1.4 - 30 October, 2002
    - Added a satellite availability display to the Pass List form
to show in tabular fashion how many satellites meet availability
citeria during the Pass List period.
    - Added a new "Clock" preferences page allowing separate control
of system clock and display clock time zones, as well as the
ability to read time zone and DST info directly from PalmOS
versions that support it (PalmOS 4 and above.)
    - Added "Invert Selection" menu action in satellite list form.
    - A new 'Sync' button on the Pass List form will set the time
and current satellite to match the selected pass.
    - Completely rewrote pass finding code to work properly with
non-LEO satellites and better with LEO ones.
    - Sped-up pass calculation for LEO satellites
    - Fixed name sorting bug that would crash the program with more
than 1600 or so satellites displayed. Now the limit is more like
2600, and the program will work if you exceed it, it just won't
      sort the satellites by name.
    - Set Time dialog now allows for you to set seconds.
    - The 3D buttons now "click" when pressed.
    - Fixed a bug in the computation of the location on the Earth's
      surface of the sub-satellite point.
    - Color maps DB now has the palette arranged in such a way as to
cause minimal problems with a Sony NR70 virtual graffiti area.

V1.3 - 2 Sept, 2002
    - Added lit/unlit Earth display for color and gray devices.
    - Optimized visible footprint plotting (5x faster)
    - Added prefs options to plot footprint and lit/dark Earth
    - Fixed a crash when import DBs contained certain bad data
    - Fixed a bug when dealing with sats with very large (fake) IDs
    - Bad TLE data in an otherwise OK file now just skips the bad
      satellite and continues.

V1.2 - 22 Aug, 2002
    - Checking and unchecking a satellite no longer deselects the row.
    - Setting the date from the Map and Sky views no longer freezes
      the screen.
    - Elevations between 0 and -1 degrees now have a minus sign.
    - There's a workaround for a bug in Handspring's PalmOS that caused
labels in the "Sky" and "Pass plot" forms to show as empty boxes.
    - If current category is "all" it is changed to "unfiled" in the
      import forms.
    - The pass calculation progress bar now works properly.

V1.1 - 14 Aug, 2002
    - Now automatically puts Clies into appropriate (160x160) resolution mode
    - Fixed registration code bug involving accented chars
    - Fixed "Invert plot E/W" option
    - Fixed crash if you tried to import or delete a non-existent memo or db
