  1. Aw fuck, they're actually stamping "Amatuer Radio" on the plates now? It was so much more fun to follow a car for 100 miles trying to sound out that jumble of letters, until it suddenly dawns on you that you're starting at a radio call sign…..lol ๐Ÿ˜›

    1. heh yea, it makes people not go "Why the fuck did that person pay to get that on a license plate?" ๐Ÿ˜‰
      That and the cool part is that since Amateur radio callsigns are unique, they don't have to deal with limited resources and searching to see if the plate is taken, etc etc.
      Thus they only charge you $5 for the old blue plates, and $7 for the one that I got. Of course, this is in addition to normal plate fees, but hey, it's quite inexpensive to get a plate where you can remember your license plate number :->
