Okay, a big fuck you to unnamed open source softswitches and unnamed PCI TDM hardware that completely shits itself for fax when you actually properly derive clocking.

And on an unrelated note, today I got another comical cease and decist, I get them about 1-2 times a month, where someone thinks that just because they can look up the number of the harassing phone calls they're getting on my site, that means I run that number.

Even when I make a good faith effort to explain to them that the results that my site gave them are actually but a step in tracking down the caller, they call me all sorts of names. And then inevitably, threaten to sue me. I calmly point out that their claims are completely without merit, and simply tell them where they can serve me, reminding them my business does not exist as a legal entity in their state (in other words, you'd better come after me with someone on the federal bar…), and that if neccesary, I would countersue for my costs in retaining a lawyer to defend against their baseless claims.

Why can't people see I'm part of the fucking solution, not the problem? I try and be nice….

  1. You really need to start doing like most websites do and scanning/posting the cease and desists. 🙂 Or at least scanning them and e-mailing them to me so I can have a good laugh in the middle of the night.

  2. Better yet……people, the general masses, are starting to realize in the RIAA suits….just because an IP address is found to be in violation doesn't provide the proof the user is the person who "owns/borrows" said IP address 🙁

You should start posting those letters somewhere..I would happily maintain them.
